Dr Toby Willison the former Acting Chief Executive and Executive Director of Operations at the Environment Agency, is joining Southern Water as Natural Capital and Environment Director.
The role will encompass key elements of the business and signals a strengthening of focus on environment and sustainable capital programmes while continuing to build effective working partnerships with key stakeholders, regulators and Government.
Dr Willison’s regulatory knowledge and depth of experience will also support the delivery of Southern Water’s long term resilience goals including driving our newly created Customer, Climate and Environment group and the Water for Life Hampshire programme which focuses on future water resources.

In an area of population growth and water stress Toby will help accelerate our delivery of a resilient water future for the South East.”
Dr Willison has delivered some of the UK’s most socially important sustainable capital infrastructure including the Net Zero 2030 programme for the Environment Agency and programme management of the construction of flood defences to protect more than 300,000 homes.
Toby is also a Non-Executive Director and Member of the Audit Committee at British Water where he has raised the profile of environmental concerns and the importance of sustainability.
