Where to use your standpipe
We've designated tanker filling points throughout our region that must be used for the extraction of water from our system.
Use our map of tanker filling points to find the location nearest to you.
These filling points are situated on water mains that will not have an impact on the levels of service to our water customers. It also ensures no discolouration is caused by large volumes of water being taken in a short time-scale.

Washout hydrants
Temporary metered standpipes must be attached to washout hydrants (WO) and not to fire hydrants.
These washout hydrants are modelled to fit the larger 40mm standpipes. This is to ensure we can continue to protect water quality and demand requirements for our customers.
Some washout hydrants may only be used during off-peak hours. This is between 10am – 4pm and 10pm – 6am. There are 70 washout hydrant locations:
